To really put ELEPHANTS FOR AFRICA on the map, our Founder and Director Dr Kate Evans had decided to take on a physical and mental challenge of MAMMOTH
proportions. In just 12 months she will take on the highest mountain in Africa, run a marathon and complete an epic bike ride - to raise funds and bring awareness about elephants in Africa.
Her aim is to raise £10,000 . Thankfully she will not be alone as friends are joining her for part or all of the challenge. Simon Buckingham has signed up for all three, whilst. Rebecca Smith is
joining us for our summit of Mount Kilimanjaro.
The challenge starts on the 14th December 2008
when Simon, Rebecca and Kate attempt their summit of Mount Kilimanjaro - the
roof of Africa. At 5894m (19, 336 feet ) Mount Kilimanjaro
is the hightest peak in Africa and not an easy summit. Whilst
not a technical climb, the altitude is the killer and bring an
abrupt halt to many peoples attempt. Keep in touch with how they
are doing through the blog and help motivate them up the
mountain by donation through this website or through www.justgiving.com/elephantkate.
