Experience

I have represented Jaguar Land Rover at a European and Global level in the development common processes, standards and test methods across different companies. This includes being selected as a member of what was initially a 3 man team, responsible for defining and implementing the worldwide sheet steel strategy for Ford Motor Company.

I have managed a range of complex and diverse, technical projects, with budgets in excess of $200k. As the project leader I’ve ultimately been responsible for delivery of all aspects from concept through to completion.

I’ve presented numerous times, both internally and externally at Conferences & Seminars. I’ve also written and regularly delivered two, half day duration, technical training sessions in materials that became official courses.

I’m a Mentor to newer members of the team, responsible for training plans as well as support and direction on a daily basis. I also provide feedback on performance as an input to appraisals.

Career History

1998 – 2009 Materials Engineering Department, Jaguar Land Rover

Acheivements

I’ve supported Elephants for Africa, since it began as a research project in ‘02. I’ve organised & completed numerous events such as climbing Mount Kilimanjaro and cycling Coast-to-Coast, as well as delivering the Calendar project each year, which together have raised thousands of pounds. I’ve also worked on the stand at Festivals and have provided technical & logistical support to the field research throughout.

I initiated and co-led the Greenpower Corporate Challenge project within Jaguar Land Rover for 26 new Graduate starters. The task was to design and build a single seat electric racing car and encompassed all aspects including project management, timing, and finance, purchasing, marketing & PR.

I received a Jaguar Land Rover Technology Award in ’07 in acknowledgement of my promotion to Technical Specialist (a position held by less than 1% of the workforce).

In ’08 I organised, and presented, the Jaguar Land Rover ‘Industrial Masterclass’. It was a one day seminar on Lightweight Vehicle Strategy at the International Materials Congress held by the Institute of Materials, Minerals & Mining (IOM3). I am also the Vice-Chairman of IOM3 Automotive Applications Division.

I led the Materials Engineering Department team in the Jaguar Challenge for 5years. The event is essentially orienteering with additional physical and mental tasks for the team and individuals.
